Ladakh is called as " Little Tibet
", an ancient Kingdom enclosed by the chains of the Karakoram
, the Himalayas and crossed by the Indus River. It is also known
as the country of Moonland, its stark Landscape, and its bare-rocked
deserts. Around the every village we can see the wall of stones
(Mani) which are engrave with prayer. It is rich of numerous
Monastery , decorated with historic arts of the Tibetan religion
which represents the daily life's of Ladakihis. In several months
Villages are completely isolated by the snow every year. |

Trekking Programme |
|
|
Day 1. Delhi-Leh.
Early in the morning departure from Delhi to Leh by plane. Arrival
in Leh airport, Leh is the capital of Ladakh (3500m). transfer
at the hotel. Afternoon visit Leh palace and Leh Bazaar. Overnight
hotel.
Day 2.
Leh,
After breakfast visit SHANKAR monastery, 20 minutes walk form
Lhe Bazar. Monastery is belong to monk Sakya Pa. Many precious
and golden object to be seen. Visit Shanti stupa and Tsemo Monastery
( temples of Maitreya and Avalokiteshvara Buddha).

Day 3.
Visit Shey Thiksey, and Hemis
After breakfast visit the monastery of SHEY, situated at 16 km
form Lhe. Ancient royal palace. Shey was the castle of the first
king of Ladakh, Lachen Palgyigon and of successive Dhamarajas.
Visit the monastery of THIKSEY 19 km from Leh. Situated on the
top of a hill. Sacred shrines and many precious objects to be
seen there. Visit the monastery of HEMIS situated at 48 km from
Lhe. Largest and the most famous monasteries of Ladakh and found
about 350 years ago by Stagsang Raschen. Overnight tent.
Day 4.
Hemis- Kotsang
Morning free, after-noon climb to sacred cave of Kotsang(meditation
cave) at 4200m found by great Gyalwa Kotsng. Many sacred shrines,
footprint and handprint of Gyalwa Kotsang can be seen on the
rock. Overnight tent.
Day 5.
Hemis to Chumatang
After breakfast departure from Hemis to rejoin Indus valley and
reclaim to the small village of CHUMATANG .(4115m) Installation
to the camp. Afternoon visit the medicinal hot spring. Overnight
tent.
Day 6.
Chumatang to Tso Moriri
Departure from Chumatang to Tso Moriri lake (4510m) the lake
of the blue water, explore the area on arrival. Overnight tent.
Day 7.
Tso Moriri, Visit Karzok
Visit the village of Karzok and the Gompa, situated on the south
of Lake. Overnight tent.
Day 8.
Tso Moriri to Tsokar
Departure form Tso Moriri to Tsokar. After noon visit the monastery
of Thukjey. Overnight tent.
Day 9.
Tsokar to Leh
Departure form Tsokar to Leh by the second world highest motor
road until Taglanga-la 5360m. and descent back to the Indus valley
and Leh. Overnight tent.
Day 10.
Visit the castle of Stok, Monastery of Spituk and camp of Choklamsar
After breakfast visit the palace of STOK, situated at 14km form
Leh. The monastery was built at the end of the village in about
1825 by king Tsespal Tondup Namgyal. Antique Thankas and Precious
objects are to be seen in the small museum of Stok Palace. Visit
the monastery of SPITUK, situated at 8km form Leh on the small
hill. The monastery was built on 11th century by 'Od-de'. Enormous
statues of the goddess Kali with the face always covered is to
be seen in the higher up on the hill of the monastery. At the
end of the day visit the Tibetan refugee camp of the CHOKLAMSAR.
Overnight hotel Leh.
Day 11.
Visit the monastery of Pheyang
After breakfast visit the monastery of PHEYANG, situated at 17km
west of Lhe. Sacred shrines and various wall paintings are to
be seen which date form royal period. Overnight hotel Leh
Day 12.
Leh to Alchi and Lamayuru
After breakfast departure by car or jeep for the monastery of
ALCHI. This monastery is Situated at 69km west of Lhe. Alchi
Gompa was built on 11th century by the ancient king 'Rin-chen-Zangpo'.
Six sacred temples to be seen with attractive wall panting and
wood carving by Tibetan, Cashmere and Afghanistan artists. Drive
towards Lamayuru. Evening visit YUNGDRUNG monastery of Lamayuru.
This monastery is situated at 126km form Leh on the top hillside
of village. This 11th century old monastery was reputed for its
statues of Buddha, wall painting and attractive wood carving.
The village contains numerous of chortens. Overnight hotel.
Day 13.
Visit the monastery of Rizong, Likir, and back to Leh.
Departure for the monastery of RIZONG. This monastery is also
known as Yuma Changchubling, and built about 135 years ago by
the great Lama Tsultim Nima. This monastery is situated on the
most solitary position. Just 2km below we can visit Chulichan
(residence of nuns). Departure for Likir monastery. This Monastery
is belong to galupa and built on 1065 by Lachen Gyalpo, the fifth
king of Ladakh. Return back to Leh. Overnight hotel..
Day 14.
Leh- Nubra valley
Departure early in the morning for Nubra valley, by crossing
the world highest motorable pass Khardong- la (5540m). After
3 hours continue drive reach in Triti village. Installation to
the camp. Afternoon visit Summur, Kyagar and on of the most famous
hot spring of Panamik village. Overnight tent.
Day 15.
Visit in Nubra valley
Leave the camp with pack lunch to Hunder. Visit 150 years old
monastery of Hunder. Drive back to the small desert in the bank
of Shyok river. Suggest to enjoy a double hump camel ride. Afternoon
return back to Diskit the district headquarter of Nubra valley.
Visit the monastery of Diskit. This1420 years old monastery is
situated on the top hillside of town. Overnight tent.
Day 16.
Back to Leh
After breakfast leave the camp with pack lunch. After 5h of drive
reached to Leh. Overnight hotel.
Day 17.
Leh,
Free day in Leh. Overnight hotel.
Day 18.
Leh to Delhi (Flight)
Transfer at the airport 3h before of your plane leaving. |

in lodge:
Welcome at the airport,
transfer to hotel/airport. Comfortable 2 stars hotel (near center
of Thamel) with breakfast, rooms with double bed/shower. All
treks are in full board. Accommodation and meals in the Lodges
(good quality locale food, the meals are not order by each
client in every lodge, but following the menu proposed by the
guide). All the transports (go/back on the places of trek
and during the trek). Accompany by a professional Guide and one
porter for 2 persons to carry your bags (maximum 20 kg for 2
persons). Trekking permit and reconfirmation of your return plane
ticket.

TREK UNDER TENT: Camping trek includes a team of guide,
assistant, cook & porters to accompany you. Porters carry
all trekking gears, food, fuel, & personal belongings, and
cook and assistants prepares hot meals. Trekkers carry only small
bag or what they might need during the day. we provide dining
tents, sleeping tents, mattress and toilet tents. |

FOOD DURING
TREK: Base of meals during
the trek are, rice, noodles, potatoes, (porridge for breakfast).
all are slow-sugar, its the best food for well walking. In lodge-trek
the lunch is taken in lodges on the way ( hot meal). The guide
order the food |

Note: All participants have to give a copy
of their insurance, with the address, tel and fax number of insurance
company. This insurance has to cover the helicopter rescue in
case of accident or sickness. In case of your insurance don't
cover helicopter rescue, you have to fill a form in Kathmandu
and make agreement that you will pay yourself the amount of expenses
paid by Nepal Ecology Treks for your helicopter rescue or research.
Without this agreement, you cannot participate in trek.
** In
trek the guide is allowed
to change the itinerary, depending of the weather, climate and
the physical condition of participants. Each participant who
stop his trek or make this trek more-fast cannot ask any money
compensation to the agency. |
