Ladakh is called as " Little Tibet
", an ancient Kingdom enclosed by the chains of the Karakoram
, the Himalayas and crossed by the Indus River. It is also known
as the country of Moonland, its stark Landscape, and its bare-rocked
deserts. Around the every village we can see the wall of stones
(Mani) which are engrave with prayer. It is rich of numerous
Monastery , decorated with historic arts of the Tibetan religion
which represents the daily life's of Ladakihis. In several months
Villages are completely isolated by the snow every year. |

Trekking Programme |

|
Day 1. DELHI-LEH.
Early in the morning transfer to airport for flight to Leh. On
arrival in Leh transfer to hotel. Leh is the capital of Ladakh.
(3500m) After few hours of rest to get used to the altitude we
start to visit Leh palace and Leh Bazar. Overnight hotel.
Day 2.
LEH
After breakfast visit SHANKAR monastery, 20 minutes walk from
Lhe Bazar. Monastery is belong to monk Sakya Pa. Many precious
and golden object to be seen. Visit Santi Stupa and Visit Tsemo
Monastery (temples of Maitreya and Avalokiteshvara Buddha). Good
view of the Leh Bazar from the monastery. Afternoon free. Overngith
hotel
Day 3.
Visit the monastery of Hemis, Thiksey and Shey
After breakfast, visit of monastery of HEMIS situated at 48 km
from Leh. Largest and the most famous monasteries of Ladakh and
found about 350 years ago by Stagsang Raschen. Visit the monastery
of THIKSEY 19 km from Leh. Situated on the top of a hill. Sacred
shrines and many precious objects to be seen there. Visit the
monastery of SHEY, situated at 16 km form Leh, an ancient royal
palace. Shey was the castle of the first king of Ladakh, Lachen
Palgyigon and of successive Dhamarajas.Overnight hotel
Day 4.
Visit the castle of Stok, Monastery of Spituk and camp of Choklamsar
After breakfast, visit the palace of STOK, situated at 14km form
Leh. The monastery was built at the end of the village in about
1825 AD by king Tsespal Tondup Namgyal. Antique Thankas and Precious
objects are to be seen in the small museum of Stok Palace. Visit
the monastery of SPITUK, situated at 8km form Leh on the small
hill. The monastery was built on 11th century by 'Od-de'. Enormous
statues of the goddess Kali with the face always covered is to
be seen in the higher up on the hill of the monastery. At the
end of the day visit the Tibetan refugee camp of the CHOKLAMSAR.

Day 5.
Visit the monastery of Pheyang
After breakfast, visit the monastery of PHEYANG, situated at
17km west of Leh. Sacred shrines and various wall paintings are
to be seen which are since royal period. Overnight hotel.
Day 6.
Leh to Alchi and Lamayuru
After breakfast departure by car or jeep for the monastery of
ALCHI. This monastery is Situated at 69km west of Leh. Alchi
Gompa was built on 11th century by the ancient king 'Rin-chen-Zangpo'.
Six sacred temples to be seen with attractive wall panting and
wood carving by Tibetan, Cashmere and Afghanistanis artists.
Drive towards Lamayuru. Evening visit YUNGDRUNG monastery of
Lamayuru. This monastery is situated at 126km form Leh on the
top hillside of village. This 11th century old monastery was
reputed for its statues of Buddha, wall painting and attractive
wood carving. Overnight hotel.
Day 7.
Visit the monastery of Rizong, Likir, and back to Leh.
Departure by Jeep or Car for the monastery of RIZONG. This monastery
is also know as Yuma Changchubling, and built about 135 years
ago by the great Lama Tsultim Nima. This monastery is situated
on the most solitary position. Just 2km below we can visit Chulichan
(residence of nuns). Departure for Likir monastery. This Monastery
is belongs to galupa and built on 1065 by Lachen Gyalpo, the
fifth king of Ladakh. Return back to Leh. Overnight hotel.
Day 8.
Leh
Free day in Leh. Overnight hotel.
Day 09.
Leh / Delhi ( by flight)
Transfer at the airport. |

Treks
in lodge:
Welcome at the airport,
transfer to hotel/airport. Comfortable 2 stars hotel (near center
of Thamel) with breakfast, rooms with double bed/shower. All
treks are in full board. Accommodation and meals in the Lodges
(good quality locale food, the meals are not order by each
client in every lodge, but following the menu proposed by the
guide). All the transports (go/back on the places of trek
and during the trek). Accompany by a professional Guide and one
porter for 2 persons to carry your bags (maximum 20 kg for 2
persons). Trekking permit and reconfirmation of your return plane
ticket.
Treks
under tent:
Trekking equipments,
professional Guide, kitchen boy and porters. Lodging under tent,
meals are prepared by cook. |

TREK UNDER TENT: Camping trek includes a team of guide,
assistant, cook & porters to accompany you. Porters carry
all trekking gears, food, fuel, & personal belongings, and
cook and assistants prepares hot meals. Trekkers carry only small
bag or what they might need during the day. we provide dining
tents, sleeping tents, mattress and toilet tents. |

FOOD DURING
TREK: Base of meals during
the trek are, rice, noodles, potatoes, (porridge for breakfast).
all are slow-sugar, its the best food for well walking. In lodge-trek
the lunch is taken in lodges on the way ( hot meal). The guide
order the food |

Note: All participants have to give a copy
of their insurance, with the address, tel and fax number of insurance
company. This insurance has to cover the helicopter rescue in
case of accident or sickness. In case of your insurance don't
cover helicopter rescue, you have to fill a form in Kathmandu
and make agreement that you will pay yourself the amount of expenses
paid by Nepal Ecology Treks for your helicopter rescue or research.
Without this agreement, you cannot participate in trek.
** In
trek the guide is allowed
to change the itinerary, depending of the weather, climate and
the physical condition of participants. Each participant who
stop his trek or make this trek more-fast cannot ask any money
compensation to the agency. |
