Ladakh is called as " Little Tibet
", an ancient Kingdom enclosed by the chains of the Karakoram
, the Himalayas and crossed by the Indus River. It is also known
as the country of Moonland, its stark Landscape, and its bare-rocked
deserts. Around the every village we can see the wall of stones
(Mani) which are engrave with prayer. It is rich of numerous
Monastery , decorated with historic arts of the Tibetan religion
which represents the daily life's of Ladakihis. In several months
Villages are completely isolated by the snow every year. |

Trekking Programme |
|
|
Day 1. DELHI-
LEH.
Arrival in Lhe. The capital city of Ladakh. (3505m) Transfer
to the hotel. Afternoon visit Lhe palace and Tsemo Monastery.
Good view of the Leh Bazar from the monastery. Overnight hotel.
Day 2.
Visit the monastery of Shey, Thiksey and Camp de Choklamsar
After breakfast visit the monastery of THIKSEY 19 km from Leh.
Situated on the top of a hill. Sacred shrines and many precious
objects to be seen there. Visit the monastery of SHEY, situated
at 16 km form Leh. Ancient royal palace. Shey was the castle
of the first king of Ladakh, Lachen Palgyigon and of successive
Dhamarajas. At the end of the day visit the Tibetan refugee camp
of the CHOKLAMSAR. Overnight hotel.
Day 3.
Visit the monastery of Shankar Stok and Pheyang.
After breakfast visit SHANKAR monastery, 20minut walk form Leh
Bazar. Monastery is belong to monk Sakya pa. Many precious and
golden object to be seen. Visit the palace of STOK, situated
at 14km form Lhe. The monastery was built at the end of the village
in about 1825 by king Tsespal Tondup Namgyal. Ancient Thankas
and Precious objects are to be seen in the small museum of Stok
Palace. Afternoon visit the monastery of PHEYANG, situated at
17km west of Leh. Sacred shrines and various wall-paintings are
to be seen which date form royal period. Overnight hotel.
Day 4.
SPITUK trek to ZINGCHEN
Early in the morning departure in taxi to Spituk. Visit the monastery
of Spituk. Then departure for ZINGCHEN. Camp site in the bank
of river.(3410m) 5h. Overnight tent.
Day 5.
ZINGCHEN to Ganda La Base Camp
Departure form ZINGCHEN to GANDA LA base camp by passing Rumbak
and Yurutse villages. (4200m)5h Overnight tent.
Day 6.
Ganda La Base Camp to Skyu.
Departure form Ganda La Base camp to SKYU(3300m), Crossing the
pass of Ganda La (4970m). 2h of easy climb to Ganda La top and
descent to Skyu village. Evening visit the 11th century old monastery
of Skyu.6h Overnight tent.
Day 7.
Skyu to Markha
Departure form Skyu to MARKHA.(3710m) Continues walking in the
bank of the river. Nice and green path. The day is quite longer.
Evening visit the monastery of Markha.7h Overnight tent.
Day 8.
Markha to Thachungtse
Departure from Markha to THACHUNGTSE (4200M)6h by passing Hankar
village with few houses. Overnight tent.
Day 9.
Thachungtse to Nimaling
Departure form Thachungtse to NIMALING (4700m) 3 1/2h camp site
in the bank of the river. Nice view of Kang Yaze peak (6400m).Overnight
tent.
Day 10.
Nimailing to Shang
Departure form Nimaling to Shang (3665m) 7h. After a long Zig-Zag
climb crossing the pass of Kongmaru La (5150m) and steep descent
upto 4700m. and reached Chukirom. We can see the natural source
of lemon water. Continue to walk on the bank of river till Shang
village. Overnight tent.
Day 11.
Sang to Hemis and Leh.
Departure for Hemis and Leh. After breakfast walk on the dusty
trail until Martselang. And turn to right side of the village
till Hemis. visit the monastery of HEMIS situated at 48 km from
Lhe. Largest and the most famous monasteries of Ladakh and found
about 350 years ago by Stagsang Raschen. After Drop to Leh. Overnigh
hotel.
Day 12.
Leh
Free day in Leh.Overnight hotel.
Day 13.
LEH-DELHI
Transfer at the airport. |

Treks
in lodge:
Welcome at the airport,
transfer to hotel/airport. Comfortable 2 stars hotel (near center
of Thamel) with breakfast, rooms with double bed/shower. All
treks are in full board. Accommodation and meals in the Lodges
(good quality locale food, the meals are not order by each
client in every lodge, but following the menu proposed by the
guide). All the transports (go/back on the places of trek
and during the trek). Accompany by a professional Guide and one
porter for 2 persons to carry your bags (maximum 20 kg for 2
persons). Trekking permit and reconfirmation of your return plane
ticket.
Treks
under tent:
Trekking equipments,
professional Guide, kitchen boy and porters. Lodging under tent,
meals are prepared by cook. |

TREK UNDER TENT: Camping trek includes a team of guide,
assistant, cook & porters to accompany you. Porters carry
all trekking gears, food, fuel, & personal belongings, and
cook and assistants prepares hot meals. Trekkers carry only small
bag or what they might need during the day. we provide dining
tents, sleeping tents, mattress and toilet tents. |

FOOD DURING
TREK: Base of meals during
the trek are, rice, noodles, potatoes, (porridge for breakfast).
all are slow-sugar, its the best food for well walking. In lodge-trek
the lunch is taken in lodges on the way ( hot meal). The guide
order the food |

Note: All participants have to give a copy
of their insurance, with the address, tel and fax number of insurance
company. This insurance has to cover the helicopter rescue in
case of accident or sickness. In case of your insurance don't
cover helicopter rescue, you have to fill a form in Kathmandu
and make agreement that you will pay yourself the amount of expenses
paid by Nepal Ecology Treks for your helicopter rescue or research.
Without this agreement, you cannot participate in trek.
** In
trek the guide is allowed
to change the itinerary, depending of the weather, climate and
the physical condition of participants. Each participant who
stop his trek or make this trek more-fast cannot ask any money
compensation to the agency. |
