Ladakh is called
as " Little Tibet ", an ancient Kingdom enclosed by
the chains of the Karakoram , the Himalayas and crossed by the
Indus River. It is also known as the country of Moonland, its
stark Landscape, and its bare-rocked deserts. Around the every
village we can see the wall of stones (Mani) which are engrave
with prayer. It is rich of numerous Monastery , decorated with
historic arts of the Tibetan religion which represents the daily
life's of Ladakihis. In several months Villages are completely
isolated by the snow every year. |

Trekking Programme |
|
|
Day 1. Delhi
/ Leh (Flight)
Early in the morning transfer to airport for flight to Leh. On
arrival transfer to hotel. Leh is the capital of Ladakh. (3500m)
After few hours of rests to get used to the altitude. Visit Leh
monastery, Leh palace and Leh Bazaar. Overnight in hotel.
Day 2.
Visit the monastery of Thiksey, Shey and Camp the Choklamsar
After breakfast visit the monastery of THIKSEY 19 km from Lhe.
Situated on the top of a hill. Sacred shrines and many precious
objects to be seen there. Visit the monastery of SHEY, situated
at 16 km form Leh. Ancient royal palace. Shey was the castle
of the first king of Ladakh, Lachen Palgyigon and of successive
Dhamarajas. At the end of the day visit the Tibetan refugee camp
of the CHOKLAMSAR. Overnight hotel.
Day 3.
Leh-Likir- Yangtang 5h
After breakfast Drive to Likir (52km) Visit the monastery of
Likir and start the trek for Yangtang,leaving behind the last
houses enter in an arid terrain, start ascending towards a small
pass Pobela, arrive at sumdo village, cross the river and leaving
sumdo on the right side, continue in the valley for about an
hour and finally reach at the summit of the Charatse-la. It is
only half an hour to Yangtang from Charastse-la summit. Overnight
tent.
Day 4.
Yangtang - Hemis Shukpachan 4h
After breakfast departure for Hemis Shukpachan by passing the
narrow path and some smalls cols. Dinner and overnight in tented
camp.
Day 5. Hemis Shukpachan - Timosgam 4h
After breakfast departure For Timosgam. Today we pass two cols
of 3800m. And super valleys of Ang. Afternoon arrive in camp.
possible to visit gonpa which presents very beautiful thanks
with Buddha's representations. Overnight tent.
Day 6.
Timosgam - Rizong Monastery. 3h
After breakfast departure from Timosgam to Rizong Monastery.
A rocky fortress perched to flank of mountain in an imposing
setting, it was founded in 19th century. Afternoon visit Main
temples. Overnight tent.
Day 7.
Rizong - Khaltse 5h
After breakfast departure form Rizong Monastery to Khaltse which
is a big borough on the side of Indus river. Overnight tent.
Day 8.
Khaltse - Lamayuru 4h
After breakfast departure from Khaltse to Lamayuru . Installation
to the camp Afternoon visit YUNGDRUNG monastery of Lamayuru.
This monastery is situated at 126km form Leh on the top hillside
of village. This 11th century old monastery was reputed for its
statues of Buddha, wall painting and attractive woodcarving.
The village contains numerous of chortens. Overnight tent.
Day 9.
Lamayuru - Wanla 5h
You will follow the trail down to the valley for about 2 km before
diverting up the ridge to the east a trail that climbs up to
Prinkti La (3750 M) you will pass Shilakong valley before coming
to the village and monastery of Wanla. A campsite will be established
aside Wanla river, where you will spend the night. Overnight
tent.
Day 10.
Wanla - Hinju 6h
After breakfast, begin trekking across the main bridge and around
the bank of the Wanla river. The village of Panji La marks the
entrance of the Hinju valley. After touring the village school
and apricot orchards, continue your trek to Hinju village. This
village has three main settlements, the lower, the main, and
the upper Hinju village. You will pass through these three settlements
and camp at the base of Konze La pass. The rest of the day is
left at leisure to explore the surrounding landscape. Overnight
tent.
Day 11.
Hinju - Kungski La (4950 m) - Sumndha Chemno (4150 m) en 7 h.
After breakfast, trek on a steady climb past the Hinju village
and various goat and shepherd camps. The trail gradually winds
down to the valley past a lone Yak herder encampment, located
at the base of the Konze La pass (approx. 3 hours). From the
pass, you will enjoy spectacular views of the Ladakh range and
the Karokoram ranges. After a brief stop at the pass, start descending
back to the valley. The yak herders huts are occupied during
the summer months by villagers from the Sumdo Chumo village,
where you will camp for the night.Overnight tent.
Day 12.
Sumndha Chemno - camp before Dungdungchen La (4050 m) in 6 h.
After breakfast start trekking to the Dundunchen La base. Begin
walking along the river, where you will visit a small monastery
and some large stone statues of Maitreya Buddha. Reach the Dundunchen
La base after a steep ascent over a side ridge, taking about
an hour, but unparalleled in beauty as a profusion of edelweiss
and other wild flowers cover the ground. This afternoon is left
free to explore the area and recuperate after a strenuous morning.

Day 13.
Camp before Dungdungchen La (4050 m) Dungdungchen La (4700 m)
- Chilling ( 3350 m) 6 h
After breakfast, trek to the Chilling village. The trail winds
past the Yak herders camp before zigzagging across the slopes
to the pass. Enroute, there are splendid views of Konze La and
the Ladakh range. Upon arrival in Chilling, you will visit the
local craftsmen of the village. These local craftsmen claim to
be descendants of four craftsmen brought in from Nepal to construct
the gigantic Sakyamuni image at the Shey Monastery. All male
members of the village still practice ancestral crafts. Overnight
tent.
Day 14.
Chilling- Singo (4060 m) 6 h.
After breakfast trek to Skiu Village. After few hours of Walk
leave the first team of Muel, then after crossing the river by
a cablecar. We will rejoin the new team of Muel. Stop in sku
village for to visit Duchen Ringboche monastery. Continue walk
towards Singo. Overnight tent.
Day 15.
Singo- Gandala (4970m)-Rumbak (3800m) 6h
After breakfast departure for the top of Gandala pass and descent
to Rumbak by crossing Yuruche village. Dinner Overnight in tented
camp.
Day 16. Rumbak- Stok Changma 4h
After breakfast departure from Rumbak toward Stok la slightly
upwards of walk during 2 hours. Then descent to Stok changma.
Overnight tent.
Day 17.
Stok Changma- Leh. 4h
After breakfast departure for Stok village. About 2h of easy
descent arrive at Stok. visit the palace of STOK, situated at
14km form Leh. The monastery was built at the end of the village
in about 1825 by king Tsespal Tondup Namgyal. Antique Thankas
and Precious objects are to be seen in the small museum of Stok
Palace. Drive back to Leh. Overnight hotel.
Day 18.
Leh
Free day in Leh. Overnight hotel.
Day 19.
Leh- Delhi
Transfer at the airport 2h before of your plane leaving. |

Treks
in lodge:
Welcome at the airport,
transfer to hotel/airport. Comfortable 2 stars hotel (near center
of Thamel) with breakfast, rooms with double bed/shower. All
treks are in full board. Accommodation and meals in the Lodges
(good quality locale food, the meals are not order by each
client in every lodge, but following the menu proposed by the
guide). All the transports (go/back on the places of trek
and during the trek). Accompany by a professional Guide and one
porter for 2 persons to carry your bags (maximum 20 kg for 2
persons). Trekking permit and reconfirmation of your return plane
ticket.
Treks

Trekking equipments,
professional Guide, kitchen boy and porters. Lodging under tent,
meals are prepared by cook. |

TREK UNDER TENT: Camping trek includes a team of guide,
assistant, cook & porters to accompany you. Porters carry
all trekking gears, food, fuel, & personal belongings, and
cook and assistants prepares hot meals. Trekkers carry only small
bag or what they might need during the day. we provide dining
tents, sleeping tents, mattress and toilet tents. |

FOOD DURING
TREK: Base of meals during
the trek are, rice, noodles, potatoes, (porridge for breakfast).
all are slow-sugar, its the best food for well walking. In lodge-trek
the lunch is taken in lodges on the way ( hot meal). The guide
order the food |

Note: All participants have to give a copy
of their insurance, with the address, tel and fax number of insurance
company. This insurance has to cover the helicopter rescue in
case of accident or sickness. In case of your insurance don't
cover helicopter rescue, you have to fill a form in Kathmandu
and make agreement that you will pay yourself the amount of expenses
paid by Nepal Ecology Treks for your helicopter rescue or research.
Without this agreement, you cannot participate in trek.
** In
trek the guide is allowed
to change the itinerary, depending of the weather, climate and
the physical condition of participants. Each participant who
stop his trek or make this trek more-fast cannot ask any money
compensation to the agency. |
