If there is a travel
which can be qualified as exceptional, it certainly the travel
from Kathmandu to Lhasa. Mysterious land, mythical country, Tibet
or "Roof of the world" has remained very authentic
because of its severe climate and the absence of communication
which have protected it for long-time from foreign influences.
Despite the Chinese efforts to suppress during the Cultural Revolution,
the religion, the traditions & the life around the remaining
monasterys are still as alive and well preserved as Alexandra-David
NEEL described at the beginning of this century. This is a land
of predilection for photography, wild landscapes, the life and
the Tibetan Buddhist religion.
But we do not go to Tibet for its gastronomy nor for the quality
of its hotels. Both can be qualified as very rudimentary and
often very precarious; we advise that for the future travellers.
Altitude is the next thing to be fully aware of. Lhassa its at
the altitude of 3600m and the most part of your journey will
be on the average altitude of 4000m and plus. |

Trekking Programme |
|
|
Day 1. Arrival in Kathmandu (arrival day needs
to be necessarily on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday, at least to could
have Chinese visa. If you arrived Wednesday or Thursday, it's
needs to pay 20 dollars supplementary for "express visa
permit" for Chinese visa). Welcome at airport by a member
of our office and transfer to hotel, 2 minutes from Thamel.
Day 2
Visit of Pashupatinath,
Swyambunath and Boddhanath stuppa.
Day 3 (Tuesday or Saturday) Departure from for Kodhari by bus (border Nepal-Tibet)
Nepali customs formalities, passage by walk from "Friendship
bridge" to return in Chinese Zone and Dparture by Landecruser
to Zhangmu at Tibet (about 1h). Chinese formalities (which can
be longs) and installation in a Guest house at Zhangmu or Nyalam.
(bank to change to Zhangmu, only one until Lhassa).
Day 4.
Depart early in the morning,
long day until Tingri with passage of 2 passes more then 5000m.
Day 5.
Departure to Xigatse,
visits, notably of Tashilumpo, the Chair (seat) of panchen Lama.
Day 6. Departure to Gyantse and visits of monastery.
Day 7. Departure to Lhassa after making magnificent
tour of Yamdrok lake, a pass at 5200m .
Day 8. Lhassa, visits the ancient capital tibet
Pothala palace the palace of Dalaï Lama, Jokhand and Barkhor.
Day 9. Lhassa, visit of Drepung and Serra monasterys.
Day 10. Transfer to gogar airport flight for
Kathmandou. In flight, passed near the top of the world mt Everest,
a fabulous spectacle … (to be in right side of plane at
depart from Lhassa to see well Everest after 35 min of flight,
for that you should be in first at plane, bcause the seat are
not numbered on depart, in general) Return in same hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 11. Free day in Kathmandu, Hotel include.

according to number of participants, Guest houses and hotels

of monasteries and monuments indicated in descriptive. Plane
Lhassa- Kathmandu. English speaking Tibetan Guide. The trek

per mail), except during the trek, which is in full board. Visits
not indicated, photo or video permits of the monuments and monasteries.

To avoid you
of the supplementary expenses, it is suggest to take a visa at
arrival in Kathmandu airport or in embassy of Nepal in Your country
, and you needs to take again double enter visa (second) when
you return from Tibet. |

Note : Since your enter in Tibet (chine) we
are not the master of work, the Chinese take relay, and it is
arrived some times that they change the programs or lodging…
We can't take responsibility in any case of every sort of change
interval, land slides, of the road obstructs, of all accidental
event, natural disaster, or politic events which can change the
travel course, which would shorten it or would lengthen it and
some problems that ensue. All this doesn't give place to any
repayments. The Chinese reply us in case of problem, or that
they can't do anything, or that was decided by their Chinese
tourism office ….. which is an office of army occupation... |

Regulation:
The regulation of your journey must between fact has the arrival
has Kathmandu after your installation has the hotel with the
discount of your passports for the Chinese visa for Tibet. Regulation

the stay in Tibet, accommodation under tents at 2 places and
in Hotel and Guest House, travelling in van Land Cruiser (6 to
8 hours per day) accompanied by a Tibetan guide, English speaking..
During the trek (Kora) bags and tents are carried by Yaks. Meals
prepared by an experienced cook. Accommodation in 4 star hotel
of good quality in Kathmandu. |

Note: All participants have to give a copy
of their insurance, with the address, tel and fax number of insurance
company. This insurance has to cover the helicopter rescue in
case of accident or sickness. In case of your insurance don't
cover helicopter rescue, you have to fill a form in Kathmandu
and make agreement that you will pay yourself the amount of expenses
paid by Nepal Ecology Treks for your helicopter rescue or research.
Without this agreement, you cannot participate in trek.
** In
trek the guide is allowed
to change the itinerary, depending of the weather, climate and
the physical condition of participants. Each participant who
stop his trek or make this trek more-fast cannot ask any money
compensation to the agency. |
