Ladakh is called as " Little Tibet
", an ancient Kingdom enclosed by the chains of the Karakoram
, the Himalayas and crossed by the Indus River. It is also known
as the country of Moonland, its stark Landscape, and its bare-rocked
deserts. Around the every village we can see the wall of stones
(Mani) which are engrave with prayer. It is rich of numerous
Monastery , decorated with historic arts of the Tibetan religion
which represents the daily life's of Ladakihis. In several months
Villages are completely isolated by the snow every year. |

|
Day 01 Delhi
= Chandigarh - Manali (Train/Coach)
Transfer to railway station for fast train to Chandigarh.-3 hours
. Arrive Chandigarh, meet upon arrival and drive straight to
reach Manali (1920 M) by covering 338 kms. Arrive Manali and
overnight Hotel
Day 02
Manali
Morning at leisure. Afternoon proceed for half day city tour.

Day 03
Manali - Darcha (Jeep)
Morning after breakfast drive 140 kms to reach Darcha (3400 M)
via Rohtang pass. Spend some time at the pass to enjoy the beauty
around. Continue to reach Darcha by late afternoon. Overnight
tent.
Day 04
Darcha - Chalang Tokpo (Trek)
Morning after breakfast start trekking to reach Chalang Tokpo
(3580 M) in about 5-6 hours. This day's trek is eassy and Gradual
all the way. Overnight stay in tents.
Day 05
Chalang Tokpo - Zanskar Sumdo - Ramjak (Trek)
Morning after breakfast start an easy trekking to Zanskar Sumdo
(3850 M). Proceed to Ramlaj., total trekking time is approx.
7-8 hours. Overnight tent.
Day 06
Ramjak - Chumikanakpo (Trek)
Morning after breakfast start trekking to reach Chumikanakpo
(4500 M) in about 5-6 hours. Climb steeply immediately after
the Campsite and then climb gradually upto Chumikanakpo. Arrive
and overnight tent.
Day 07
Chumikanakpo - Shingola - Lakong (Trek)
Morning after an early breakfast start trekking 16 Kms to reach
Lakong (4450 M) by crossing Shingo La (5100M). The climb to the
pass is not difficult but climbing down is quite steep through
the Glacier. The day is quite long and tiring, 7-8 hours approx.
Arrive and overnight tent.
Day 08
Lakong - Kurgiak (Trek)
Morning after breakfast start trekking to reach Kurgiak (4060
M) by covering approx. 14 Kms, 6-7 hours approx. Now you will
find the diference in the features of the mountains as you are
in Zanskar, Arrive and overnight tent.
Day 09
Kurgiak - Purne (Trek)
Morning after breakfast start trekking to reach Purne (3745M)
trek for about 5-6 hours. Arrive and overnight stay in tents.
Day 10
Purne - Phuktal Gompa (3990 M) - Purne (Trek)
Morning after breakfast start trekking for an excursion to Phutkal
Gompa which in one the most impressive Gompas in Ladakh by covering
approx 14 kms. Return back to purne and overnight tent.
Day 11
Purne - Ichar (Trek)
Morning after breakfast, cross small Canyons of Pudding stones,
which leads to Char village and passing Hanumi and Surle villages.
Arrive at Ichar, 5-6 hours approx. Overnight stay in tents.
Day 12
Ichar - Mone (trek)
Morning after breakfast start trekking to reach Mone (3650 M)
5-6 hours approx .Arrive and oovernight tent.
Day 13
Mone - Padum (Trek)
Morning after breakfast start trekking to reach Padum (3560 M),
5 - 6 hrs approx. Padum is the old capital of Zanskar. Arrive
and overnight stay in tents.
Day 14
Padum
Full day free to explore or visit Pipi Tong and Stagnimo gompas.
overnight tent.
Day 15
Padum - Karsha - Pishu (Trek)
Morning after breakfast start your onward trek to Karsha (3610
M) by covering approx. 7 kms in 3 hrs approx crossing the Doda
river. A 15th century Gelupa Monastery (populary known as Karsha
Gompa) dominates the scene. Proceed to Pishu (3650 M) by covering
approx. 13 kms in 4 hrs approx along the river Zanskar. An easy
days trek. Pishu has a nice camping site. Arrive and overnight
tent.
Day 16
Pishu - Hanumil (Trek)
Morning after breakfast start trekking to reach Hanumil (3960
M) by covering approx. 14 kms in 4-5 hrs through Pidmu after
continuing to the left bank of river Zanskar. Arrive and overnight
stay in tents.
Day 17
Hanumil - Purfi La - Snertse (Trek)
Morning after breakfast start trekking to reach Snertse (3745
M / 15 kms). After crossing a steep and difficult climb to the
pass, Purfila (3900 M). From the pass it is a steep descent upon
Omachu river and from there it is about one km climb upto a wonderful
Campsite at Snertse. Arrive and overnight tent.
Day 18
Snertse - Hanumala - Lingshet (Trek)
After early breakfast proceed to climb Hanuma La, this is a long
gradual ascent with gorges first, then easier. After about 4
hrs reach the summit at Hanuma La. (4750 M). Then descent for
about 1000 metre steep descent and about 300 metre ascent climb
along the mountainside, further easy descent to reach Lingshet
(3800 M). Arrive and overnight stay in tents.
Day 19
Lingshet - Foot of Shingla (Trek)
Early morning after breakfast start trekking, ascent for about
1 hr to reach Murgum La (4100 M), continue climbing to view the
valley of Nierag on the other bank of Zanskar. Hereafter a gentle
descent towards the village of Gomgma (3840 M) and Skiumpata.
Then a gradual climb to reach the base of Shinge La, total time
7 hrs approx. Dinner and overnight tent.
Day 20
Foot of Shingela - Shingela - Photoksar (Trek)
Early morning after break start climbing up the Shinge La (5230
M) which takes about 2 hours. Shingela means the lion's pass
which is also the highest pass on this trek. First the climb
is through the terminal Moraine and then through the long Glacier.
The climb is not steep but the Descent through the steep Glaciers
a little difficult. Then a speet descent and further a gentle
climb to reach Bumiktse La (4200 M). Proceed to Photoskar, a
nice camping site. Photoksar village is a town of clusters of
Homes, Green Fields and a Gompa above in a dark brown cut crop.
Arrive dinner and overnight tent.
Day 21
Photoksar - Sirsir La - Hanupatta(Trek)
Morning after breakfast start trekking (6-7 hours approx.) to
reach Hanupatta (3770 M) after crossing Sirsir La (4800 M). The
climb to the pass is steep but the descent is gentle. Arrive
and overnight tent.
Day 22
Hanupatta - Wanla (Trek)
Morning after breakfast start trekking (6 hours approx.) to reach
Wanla (3645 M). Wanla is a small town with its Maroon and white
Monastery Perched above the town on a knife edged ridge. Arrive
and oovernight tent.
Day 23
Wanla - Lamayuru - Leh (Trek/Jeep)
Morning after breakfast start trekking (4-5 hours approx.) to
reach Lamayuru (3510 M). Lamayuru Gompa is one of the most impressive
and well maintained monasteries in Ladakh. Arrive and visit Monastery.
Proceed to Leh by jeep (4 hrs approx), enroute visit Alchi monastry.
Overnight in hotel.
Day 24
Visit Leh, and the Monastery of Spituk and Phyang
Morning after breakfast proceed for sightseeing of Leh. Visit
Leh Palace, Leh Gompa and bazaar. Pm: Visit Spituk and Phyang
Gompas. Overnight hotel.
Day 25
Visit the monastery of Shey, Thiksey and Hemis
After late breakfast full day excursion to Shey, Thiksey &
Hemis monasteries. Overnight hotel.
Day 26
Visit Stok and camp of Choklamsar
After breakfast visit Stok Palace and museum. Return to Leh enroute
visiting SOS Tibetan Refujee camp at Choglamsar. Lunch at hotel.
Rest of the day free at leisure. Dinner and Overnight hotel.
Day 27
Leh / Delhi (Flight)
Transfer at the airport 3h before of your plane leaving. |

in lodge:
Welcome at the airport,
transfer to hotel/airport. Comfortable 2 stars hotel (near center
of Thamel) with breakfast, rooms with double bed/shower. All
treks are in full board. Accommodation and meals in the Lodges
(good quality locale food, the meals are not order by each
client in every lodge, but following the menu proposed by the
guide). All the transports (go/back on the places of trek
and during the trek). Accompany by a professional Guide and one
porter for 2 persons to carry your bags (maximum 20 kg for 2
persons). Trekking permit and reconfirmation of your return plane
ticket.
Treks
under tent:
Trekking equipments,
professional Guide, kitchen boy and porters. Lodging under tent,
meals are prepared by cook. |

TREK UNDER TENT: Camping trek includes a team of guide,
assistant, cook & porters to accompany you. Porters carry
all trekking gears, food, fuel, & personal belongings, and
cook and assistants prepares hot meals. Trekkers carry only small
bag or what they might need during the day. we provide dining
tents, sleeping tents, mattress and toilet tents. |

FOOD DURING
TREK: Base of meals during
the trek are, rice, noodles, potatoes, (porridge for breakfast).
all are slow-sugar, its the best food for well walking. In lodge-trek
the lunch is taken in lodges on the way ( hot meal). The guide
order the food |

Note: All participants have to give a copy
of their insurance, with the address, tel and fax number of insurance
company. This insurance has to cover the helicopter rescue in
case of accident or sickness. In case of your insurance don't
cover helicopter rescue, you have to fill a form in Kathmandu
and make agreement that you will pay yourself the amount of expenses
paid by Nepal Ecology Treks for your helicopter rescue or research.
Without this agreement, you cannot participate in trek.
** In
trek the guide is allowed
to change the itinerary, depending of the weather, climate and
the physical condition of participants. Each participant who
stop his trek or make this trek more-fast cannot ask any money
compensation to the agency. |
