This easy hike,
take place in a superb region, very rich in various cultures
according to altitudes. Cultures are in terraces (Rice, wheat),
you will cross many villages of different ethics (Tamangs, Sherpas,
Tibétains, Brahmanes), with the welcoming and smiling
villagers who browse trails that you will borrow. Of immense
forests of Rhododendrons (from 2000m) with trees of 10m of top,
that bloom in Mars/Avril, and a lot of hanged orchids to mosses
of trees. An authentic region little touched by the tourism panoramic
...Vueses on the big Himalayenses tops, notably to Tarkhegayang
and Sarmathang. (1000m of made uneven, the 3eme day) .This hike
can make himself all year (including December/January) |

D.1 Arrival in Kathmandu. Reception at the
airport and transfer to hotel in centre Thamel.
D.2. Free day in Kathmandu. Hotel included.
D.3 Departure in Local bus for Nagarkot and
ascending/ descending for Dharkhola and continue till 2 River
Lodge (Gyalthum, where our dispensary and free school is situated
)
D.4 Leaving Gyalthum for TIMBU following
the river MELAMCHI, slopes and descents alternatively, crossing
all the villages and terraced fields. Around 5 hours of walking
without difficulties. TIMBU (1400m) is a Brahmin village.
D.5 Leaving TIMBU for TARKEYGAYANG, with
two and a half hours' climbing, quite difficult up to KAKANI
(2100m) where you will take lunch before starting to walk for
TARKEYGAYANG (2650m). About three and a half hours walking. First
views of rhododendrons in spring season.
D.6 TARKEYGAYANG - day of respite - visit
of the very interesting village with a Buddhist temple and a
monastery. For those who want an optional hike, an excursion
climbing to a beautiful point (3600) to view the surrounding
glaciers. [steep climb & rapid descent, 6/7 hrs]
D.7 Leaving TARKEYGAYANG along the crests
bordered with rhododendrons and the amazing forests. Wild orchids
on the trees. Breathtaking landscapes and views over the glaciers.
Arrival at SERMATHANG (2600m), the last Sherpa village in the
region.
D.8 SERMATHANG to GYALTHUM ( 1500M), NIGHT
IN " 2 RIVERS LODGE" Beautifully terraced fields.
D.9 Departure from GYALTHUM for to return
back Kathmandu by a local bus by passing MELAMCHI PUL BAZAAR
5 hours. Hotel included
D.10. Free day in Kathmandu. Hotel included.

in lodge:
Welcome at the airport,
transfer to hotel/airport. Comfortable 2 stars hotel (near center
of Thamel) with breakfast, rooms with double bed/shower. All
treks are in full board. Accommodation and meals in the Lodges
(good quality locale food, the meals are not order by each
client in every lodge, but following the menu proposed by the
guide). All the transports (go/back on the places of trek
and during the trek).Accompany by a professional Guide and one
porter for 2 persons to carry your bags (maximum 20 kg for 2
persons). Trekking permit and reconfirmation of your return plane
ticket.

professional Guide, kitchen boy and porters. Lodging under tent,
meals are prepared by cook. |

TREK UNDER TENT: Camping trek includes a team of guide,
assistant, cook & porters to accompany you. Porters carry
all trekking gears, food, fuel, & personal belongings, and
cook and assistants prepares hot meals. Trekkers carry only small
bag or what they might need during the day. we provide dining
tents, sleeping tents, mattress and toilet tents. |

TREK IN LODGE. The lodges are simple mountain shelters,
providing meals (very good local food) and simple rooms with
2 or 4 beds (Only in Ledhar and Phedi, it is a common dormitory).
In each lodge, you find a room with water (same as shower) for
bath. The treks in lodge pass in a very convivial atmosphere
permitting to have a closer look of Nepalese mountain life and
to encounter new person every day. It also permits to be in warm
room (kitchen and restaurant room) in cold season

FOOD DURING
TREK: Base of meals during
the trek are, rice, noodles, potatoes, (porridge for breakfast).
all are slow-sugar, its the best food for well walking. In lodge-trek
the lunch is taken in lodges on the way ( hot meal). The guide
order the food |

Note: All participants have to give a copy
of their insurance, with the address, tel and fax number of insurance
company. This insurance has to cover the helicopter rescue in
case of accident or sickness. In case of your insurance don't
cover helicopter rescue, you have to fill a form in Kathmandu
and make agreement that you will pay yourself the amount of expenses
paid by Nepal Ecology Treks for your helicopter rescue or research.
Without this agreement, you cannot participate in trek.
** In
trek the guide is allowed
to change the itinerary, depending of the weather, climate and
the physical condition of participants. Each participant who
stop his trek or make this trek more-fast cannot ask any money
compensation to the agency. |
