We offer a trek
of 4 days of max. alt. of 2700m, as a supplement, from the "
2 Rivers Lodge" during your stay. This trek is specially
designed for them who have a little experience of trek. This
trek, as a whole, is quite easy except a more difficult day with
800m of climb that takes 2h 1/2 hours to complete. 5 to 7 hours
of walk per day with a guide and porters ( you have to carry
only your personal needs). Accommodations in Lodge (very simple
mountain shelter). |

|
Day
1 :Arrival in Kathmandu.
Reception at the airport by a member of our team, transfer to
the hotel in the tourist place of THAMEL (**) first short visit
of the town.
Day 2: In the morning, visit of PASHUPATINATH, Hindu pilgrimage
site, and BODHNATH (Buddhist Stupa), whose painted eyes are often
seen in the books.Free time in the afternoon.
Day 3: (**) early in the morning, visit of SWAYAMBUNATH
(often known as Monkey Temple) where we find Hinduism & Tibetan
Buddhism rubbing shoulders. Visit of THIMI, a small village which
has managed to preserve its authenticity. Sightseeing of medieval
royal capital of BHAKTAPUR
Day 4: Departure in jeep (or local bus) for HELAMBU and
the ‘2 Rivers Lodges’ Mountain hotel, near the village
of Talamarang/Gyalthum. It means about 4 hours in jeep/bus out
of which 2 1/2 on the gravelled roads. Superb landscapes along
the journey. Terraced fields and a panoramic view of the Himalayan
summits from DHULIKHEL. Arrival in MELAMCHI PUL BAZAAR, about
2h 1/2 hours of walk on foot along the river valley, (porters
for your baggage's) to arrive at the lodge (mountain refuge).
The hotel is simple but has the modern amenities such as attached
bathroom, showers (hot in winter), and is ensconced in the Nepalese
mountains. Life is very pleasant there. There are two mountain
streams and a little forest near the lodge. Assured calm, very
close to nature. The lodge is situated near a dispensary providing free medical service,
financed by the profits earned by these stays and treks.
Days 5
to 10:
Stay at the ‘ 2 Rivers
Lodge’, rest, relaxation, or tours/trips if you wish in
the surrounding villages where you will find villagers of different
ethnic groups (Tamang, Brahmins, Sherpas) ever smiling and pleasing.
Good food (essentially vegetarian). It is a return to the wilderness.
Neither electricity nor telephone in HELAMBU.
Option : If you wish, you can carry out a trek
of 4 days up to the altitude of 2700m . Additional cost On
demande (minimum 2 persons).
Day
11: Departure from the‘ 2 Rivers Lodge’
for Kathmandu (Local Bus). Arrival in the afternoon. Back to
the same hotel.
Day 12: Free day , Hotel included. Airport transfer on
the day you are leaving |

D.1 Departure from the” 2 Rivers Lodge”
(1400m) to a small village of TIMBU (1800m).4/ 5 hours of walk.
D.2 A little more difficult day, leaving TIMBU for
TARKHEGAYANG, village Sherpas & Tibetans at 2700m altitude,
with a temple and a monastery . ( 6 to 7 hours of walk ). Steep
climb starting from TIMBU up to KAKANI ( 800m of gain in altitude.
2h1/2 hours walk to Kakani). From 2000m onwards, forests of Rhododendrons
some of which reach 10m of height, Rhododendrons flourish in
February, March & April. Several varieties of orchids, depending
of the season.
D.3 Leaving for SARMATHANG along the crests from. TARKHEGAYANG.
SARMATHANG 2700m a village of Buddhists & Brahmins. A superb
panoramic view of Himalayan ranges, behind the temple of SARMATHANG.
D.4 Departure back to the "2 Rivers Lodge "
from SARMATHANG. Along the way, the terraced fields (of rice
& wheat) . |

Welcome at the airport,
transfer to hotel/airport. Comfortable 2 stars hotel (near center
of Thamel) with breakfast, rooms with double bed/shower. All
treks are in full board. Accommodation and meals in the Lodges
(good quality locale food, the meals are not order by each
client in every lodge, but following the menu proposed by the
guide). All the transports (go/back on the places of trek
and during the trek).Plane
Kathmandu-Lukla-Kathmandu.
Accompany by a professional Guide and one porter for 2 persons
to carry your bags (maximum 20 kg for 2 persons). Trekking permit
and reconfirmation of your return plane ticket.

Possibilities
of Extension of the stay : |

TREK UNDER TENT: Camping trek includes a team of guide,
assistant, cook & porters to accompany you. Porters carry
all trekking gears, food, fuel, & personal belongings, and
cook and assistants prepares hot meals. Trekkers carry only small
bag or what they might need during the day. we provide dining
tents, sleeping tents, mattress and toilet tents. |

TREK IN LODGE. The lodges are simple mountain shelters,
providing meals (very good local food) and simple rooms with
2 or 4 beds (Only in Ledhar and Phedi, it is a common dormitory).
In each lodge, you find a room with water (same as shower) for
bath. The treks in lodge pass in a very convivial atmosphere
permitting to have a closer look of Nepalese mountain life and
to encounter new person every day. It also permits to be in warm
room (kitchen and restaurant room) in cold season… |

FOOD DURING
TREK: Base of meals during
the trek are, rice, noodles, potatoes, (porridge for breakfast).
all are slow-sugar, its the best food for well walking. In lodge-trek
the lunch is taken in lodges on the way ( hot meal). The guide
order the food |

Note: All participants have to give a copy
of their insurance, with the address, tel and fax number of insurance
company. This insurance has to cover the helicopter rescue in
case of accident or sickness. In case of your insurance don't
cover helicopter rescue, you have to fill a form in Kathmandu
and make agreement that you will pay yourself the amount of expenses
paid by Nepal Ecology Treks for your helicopter rescue or research.
Without this agreement, you cannot participate in trek.
** In
trek the guide is allowed
to change the itinerary, depending of the weather, climate and
the physical condition of participants. Each participant who
stop his trek or make this trek more-fast cannot ask any money
compensation to the agency. |
